Thursday, October 14th, 2010
If you are arriving early, please let us know. We are thinking about going to Ohana's for supper on
Thursday. This is the best hibachi grill you'll ever eat at.
Friday, October 15th, 2010
7PM - 9PM: Welcome Party. We have a fun game planned for the group. We are keeping the game a
secret. But we can tell you that it's not a sports game or a board game. It's going to be a fun group
game that any able-bodied person can enjoy. We have two ways for you to participate: play the game for a
chance to be silly & win a cool prize; referee the game (if you can't or don't wish to play the game, you can
still participate by helping us referee). If you're interested in refereeing, please contact us so we can get a count.
9PM - 10PM: Vendors can set up for Saturday. We will be able to lock the vending room. Enjoy the court
yards, pool, game room, and hanging out with everyone at the hotel.
Saturday, October 16th, 2010
Before 8:45AM: Enjoy your complimentary breakfast at the hotel, check in and get your free goody bag. Per
request from the hotel, please do not take your pets into the breakfast room.
8:45AM - 9:00AM: Check in and get your free goody bag.
9:00AM - 9:30AM: Welcome announcements, icebreaker game, start raffle drawings. Raffles for
free sugar glider goodies will be held throughout the day. You must be present to win.
9:30AM - 10:00AM: "Ask the Experts" (part 1) - Basic sugar glider care (diet, husbandry, cages, behavior, etc)
and vet care discussion. We are looking for experienced glider owners to cover different topics. Please contact us if you are able to help.
10:00AM - 11:00AM: Vet speaker, Dr. Gimre, will be talking about the importance of a wellness check, questions
to ask your vet, common health issues & concerns (parasites, HLP, effects of poor diet), and neuter
methods.
11:00AM - 11:45AM: "Ask the Experts" (part 2) - We're looking for experienced glider owners to join our panel of
experts. This is a chance for sugar glider owners to ask questions and see how others deal with their specific
issues. The caterers will be setting up for lunch during this time.
11:45AM - 12:00PM: Announce photo contest winners, slide show of
entries.
12:00PM - 1:00PM: Buffet lunch (this is included with your registration). We will be having
lasagna. Please let us know if you are vegetarian, so we can inform the caterer.
1:00PM - 2:00PM: Other exotics. Please leave your suggies in your room during
lunch. We are making this a time for people to share and show off some of their other exotic pets.
(Please remember, our hotel will only allow small caged animals.) Daniela Graham is coming from the
Blank Park Zoo to show off a few exotics from their educational program. She does have some strict
quarantine requirements, so no other animals will be allowed in her area. You can run back to the room and
get your sugar gliders again after this time, if you'd like.
2:00PM - 3:00PM: Teresa Snow's talk about traveling with sugar gliders and Tami Ciboski's talk about e-collars,
followed by nail-trimming & e-collar-making demonstrations.
3:00PM - 4:00PM: "Toy Time" - Everyone will get to make a sugar glider toy to take home with them. This
will be a fun time to sit around the tables & get to know each other, while making something fun for our fur
kids.
4:00PM - 5:00PM: Vending time. This is your chance to shop for some great sugar glider goodies!

5:30PM - 7:30PM: Eat dinner, enjoy some free time.
8:00PM: Game night in the ballroom

Most people will be eating breakfast and checking out. For those who are sticking around a little longer, we
have a few ideas for things to do. First, you are more than welcome to come to church with us at 11:00.
The church is Des Moines First Assembly on Merle Hay Road. We could go to lunch
somewhere together. Then there is a pet expo in Des Moines this weekend, so we were thinking about checking that out
for a few hours. Please let us know if you are interested in joining us for any or all of these
things.
